Excellent price for a reasonable kit
Not built this yet but the reviews are generally good and it looks ok on the sprue. Thanks to HC doing an Airfix sale plus a £5 discount voucher split 50/50 with another kit, this only cost £6.50 instead of £12.

Great kit
Goes together nicely, clear instructions. Excellent option for the modeller to build the wheel assemblies or for the less experienced modeller or wargamer who just wants to get it on the table to use a pre-constructed assembly instead.

1/72 Sherman Firefly Airfix kit
Excellent kit , spare tracks etc! Airfix instruction error, do not add bow machine gun!!!! Firefly has blanking plate instead. Good detail for such a small kit!!

Excellent 1:72 Sherman Firefly
This fairly recent release of the Sherman Firefly from Airfix is a new tooling from 2020, being properly scaled in 1:72. It is a world away from the previous Airfix Sherman tank offerings in 1:76 scale which have all been based on the original moulding from 1961. Inside the box Airfix have provided an easy version where all the wheels & tracks are in one moulding, or one slightly more complex where you assemble the wheels and add the track pieces. The parts are crisp and well moulded and fit together extremely well, and with the 2 paint/decal option boxing you get spare tracks, wheels and boxes to fit on the outside of the tank hull. In the gift set version I believe you get just one set of decals and only the pre moulded wheel / track assembly with no added bits for the outside of the hull. The parts & instructions have now been updated to include the plate cover for where the bow machine gun is placed on standard Shermans, but I suspect a couple of the part numbers are incorrect for the separate wheel and track assembly version … so test for the correct parts and that both track link patterns are correct before glueing. Overall an excellent model and well worth the purchase.
