Great quality, saves time and very effective
The electric eraser is brilliant quality, at a reasonable price with very cheap refills. It is very simple to use (for right and left hand) and it is very easy to change or move the eraser. The erasers themselves are quite soft, and take pencil off easily with minimum damage to the paper (very little to none), they can also be used at a angle which then creates a point, that is brilliant for adding highlights and details to work as well as just removing mistakes. Also it does not take too much power as I haven't had to change the batteries yet and have used it a lot!
This saves time over a normal eraser, is highly effective, and has made a great addition to my supplies.

A must have item for anyone who loves drawing.
The Derwent Battery Operated Electric Eraser is a brilliant bit of kit. It flawlessly manages cleaning up any unnecessary/ messy lines. Having a motor power a small eraser reminds me of using the eraser in Photoshop because of how quick it can clean up a piece of work. I am also still using the eraser that came with the tool so depending on what you use it for the erasers will last a long time. I do recommend purchasing the 30 Battery Eraser Refills.
It isn't great for large areas and you do have to worry about getting AAA batteries which is worth it for a well made product like this.

Really good gadget
Bought this on a whim because it was much cheaper than I expected. Recently an electric eraser was mentioned in an article I read, and I was intrigued and when I saw this in the shop I did an impulse buy. It is really useful. You can rub out really small areas and you don't put any pressure on so there's much less chance of a hole. The rubber does wear down very quickly, but you get spares with it, and you can move the rubber down like a propelling pencil. Also shape the end to a point with a bit of sand paper just switch on and hold the tip against your sand paper.

Success story!
Bought these for my granddaughters as a present. Here's what they say:
'Battery rubbers are an advanced and fun new piece of art equipment that makes rubbing out very effortless! It is rapid, speedy and incredibly straightforward to use, with outstanding results. You can also create exquisite art pieces using this tool and shading! We both highly recommend this electric rubber, as it has been very useful to our artwork.'
So, really well done Hobbycraft!

Revolutionises the way I draw
Since buying an electric eraser my drawings have improved immensely. The pinpoint accuracy of the rotating nib allows beautiful detail of light to be found in both graphite and charcoal drawings. A great addition to my drawing kit.

Great product!
I first saw an 'electric eraser' on the Portrait Artist of the Year programme and couldn't wait to try one myself. It's easy to use and in addition to allowing you to quickly correct drawing mistakes it is also good for creating highlights in hair, giving a realistic professional effect.

Very good tool for making highlights
Used for making highlights in Charcoal drawings very good tool but have to hold the button down whilst using, would have been better if you could click the button on and off instead so you can fully concentrate on your drawing

Erases better than a traditional or putty rubber.
Bought this because I had seen other people using them.
Really effective to take back areas of drawings to white. Worked really well to create small, sharp areas of highlight in charcoal work.
Needs quite a firm grip when using as the rubber can 'grab' at the surface.
Takes two AAA batteries (not included) but I can't comment on battery life as have only just started to use it.
Reasonably priced and a very useful little tool.
