Beautiful Rich Colours!
These Shore & March watercolour pencils were nice to work with. When used dry they had quite a chalky texture and the colours were somewhat muted. However as soon I added water the colours really started to come to life. It was very easy to get rid of the pencil grain and achieve a smooth watercolour effect. Overall, I was really impressed with the finished result when dry. I thought the use of colour names such an Amethyst and Honeycomb to be a nice touch. The two gold and silver metallic pencils included also have a subtle shimmery pigment which looks very effective. I found the key benefits were the wide choice of colours made available in the set, when activated with water this really helped the colours to pop, this shows they have a good quality pigment. In comparison to other brands, the Shore & Marsh colours were much richer and broke down easier when water was added. Overall a great set and a perfect introduction to watercolour pencils.
