Good quality Teddy Bear Mould
I am an Artisan at Hobbycraft and I was asked to test this brand new Teddy bear silicone mould. I made a chocolate teddy bear cake with pink piped buttercream and fondant decoration. First impressions of the mould were that it is very good quality and surprisingly thick. It has good rigidity unlike some large silicone moulds you can buy. This meant it held it's shape well without any additional support during baking. For ease of getting in and out of the oven I did place on a flat baking tray to avoid any bending or cracking. When de-moulding leave the cake to completely cool down before removing from the mould. Once baked and out of the mould, it did keep the Teddy bear shape well.
Clean up was very easy. A quick hand wash to get any surface cake remnants off and then into the dishwasher, top rack. Came out perfect.
Shape of de-moulded baked cake was good and once I piped the icing it definitely looked like a Teddy Bear. I was impressed with the thickness and quality of this mould and sure it would last very well for a long time and many bakes. Would work well also for a large jelly mould too. Would definitely recommend.
