* 2 x Cotton Pillowcases

Step 1

Gather your thread colours, pillowcases, and equipment. Download and print the embroidery pattern and stick the two A4 pieces together.

Step 2

Place the template inside the first pillowcase and trace using an erasable fabric pen and a light box or good light source. Remove and repeat for the second pillowcase.

Step 3

Take the 6” embroidery hoop and place around one section of the design.

Use two strands of thread colour 3776 and split stitch each petal. Use two strands of 758 for the centre of the flower.

Step 4

For the foliage design, use three strands of thread colour 522, stem stitch the stem and satin stitch the leaves.

For the small flowers, use three strands of thread 676 and lazy daisy stitch each petal. Add a French knot to each centre, use three strands of 3852 for this.

Step 5

Move the embroidery hoop to the next section. For this design, use three strands of thread colour 3013 and back stitch the stem. Use three strands of 676 for the French knots.

Step 6

For the next flower design, use three strands of thread 935 and split stitch for the stem and satin stitch the leaves. For the flower petals, satin stitch using three strands of 758 and 3712.

Step 7

Move the embroidery hoop again, for this foliage use three strands of thread colour 3364, using stem stitch and satin stitch again.

Step 8

Move the embroidery hoop to the next flower, repeat step 3 for the main flower, this time using two strands of thread colour 3721 for the petals. Then repeat step 4 for the small flowers, using threads 3776 and 720 for the orange one.

Repeat step 3 for this foliage design.

Repeat step 5 for this foliage design.

Step 11

Repeat step 6 for this flower design, using only thread colour 3712 for the petals.

Step 12

Take three strands of thread colour 645 and begin satin stitching the text. Continue until complete.

Step 13

Remove the hoop and press carefully. Repeat all the steps for the second pillowcase.
