How to Crochet Star Coasters
A simple star motif using cotton dk yarn and basic stitches to create a pretty coaster set. Inspired by the classic granny square and worked in the round; each central star is bordered with treble crochet clusters to create a 'granny stripe' effect.

Pattern written in UK terms
Tension not critical for this project but should be consistent throughout. Using a 4mm hook each coaster measures approx. 5in/20cms at the widest point.
Starting 3 chain counts as 1 treble crochet stitch, keep this starting chain quite loose to make it easier to slip stitch into to join at the end of each round.
Pattern is worked in the round, do not turn your work at the end of each round
