Bit rough and ready .more like the sugar paper you got in primary school back in the day ,!!
Great for a scribble session .or rough pastel drawing .quality wise not the best . however it's cheap and cheerful and you don't feel guilty using it up
Fun for a bit of loose art /collage

Great value product
This is an economical pad of black paper. Although only 80gsm it's ideal for trying out techniques with gouache paint. The groups I teach enjoyed working from dark to light and leaving small areas of the black paper showing, giving the effect of a linocut print.

Thin but very useable
Although the sheets are quite thin, because you're more likely to use it for pastels it really doesn't matter.
It's a nice smooth surface but with enough bite for the pastel that it's a pleasure to use

Its good for the price
Not quite as black as jet black but good for the the price, good quality. I am using it for origami and it folds well.

Great for soft pastels
A black background gives Soft Pastels an interesting contrast, this is what I mainly use it for. Also sticking coloured card straight onto the black makes an interesting change from the usual white background. I always think it could be a little more black. A shame we can't have it in vantablack!

Quite good value for money
If you take into account that all other black pads seem to be extremelly over priced, this one lets you try drawing in black paper for a fraction of the price. Not very thick paper, but nice to use and overall good value for money.

Amazing
The sketch pad is amazing for chalk drawings. Also this is the first portable sized pad I've found so it's really easy to take with you rather than the big book ones I've seen.
