How to Screen Print a Pennant Flag Using Mod Podge

Stretch tights material across the embroidery hoop.

Trace the design onto tights material using a black marker.

Paint the negative space around the design with Mod Podge and set aside to dry.

Fold your fabric in half length wide, edge to edge. Then measure and cut two 21cm wide pieces.

Fold in half again along the long edge, measure a 45 degree angle and cut.

Step 7

Once the Mod Podge is dry, open the fabric out and place the hoop on top.

Put newspaper underneath to protect your surface. Put the paint just above the design and use a piece of plastic (an old credit card or store card works well for this) to scrape the paint across the design. Carefully lift the screen off the design.

Each print can take up to four hours to dry, or can be dried by carefully using a hair dryer on low heat.

Step 10

Once the paint is dry, fold and pin the right sides together. Leaving an 2″ one side and about 5″ on the other so that you are able to turn it through.

Stitch around, using a 1cm seam allowance. Trim the corners and turn through.

Step 12

Top stitch about 2cm from the top of the flag.

Cut the Dowel and insert into the flag and tie ribbon either side for the flag to hang.
