K2tog – knit 2 sts together

The Back

Using 3.5mm needles and yarn A cast on 110sts.

Work in 1×1 rib for 6 rows.

Row 7: work 1 x1 rib until 2 sts remain, k2tog (109 sts)

Begin working in stocking st until work measures 21cm. Pass a marker at each end of last row.

The Front

Begin working the graph.

Place a marker at each end of last row.

The Back

Using yarn A only work in stocking st until work measures 21cm from markers.

Work 3 rows in 1×1 rib

Next row: Work 5, k2tog, yo *work12, k2tog, yo* repeat until 4 sts remain, work sts.

Work 3 rows in 1×1 rib

Cast off.

Making up

Steam work following instructions on the yarn.

With RS facing fold the back sections of the cushion using the markers as a guide for the folding line. Overlap the button band and pin into place making sure that the button hole placket is underneath.

Using mattress st sew both the side seams.

Turn work so the RS is facing outwards. Sew buttons on and insert the cushion filling.
