Creating beautiful decorative origami garlands for a wedding or special celebration is a doddle with a 12 x 12" paper or card pack, plus it's good for the bank balance too - all the additional tools you need are a metal ruler, craft knife, twine and double-sided tape and you're ready to go! You can use any geometric shape you like - we've opted for a super-simple pyramid - the sky is quite literally the limit!

How to make

Step 1

Start by creating a pyramid net from four equilateral triangles, add three tabs to allow you to build the net into a 3D structure.

Step 2

To create a one metre garland you'll need around 10 triangles. We selected four different papers from the ombrè scrapbook pack and then a sheet of white cardstock, creating two different sizes of pyramid from each sheet.

Step 3

Apply double-sided tape to all of the tabs, removing the backing paper from two of them and begin constructing the pyramids one by one.

Step 4

Once all are complete, cut a length of twine to approximately 1.5m in length. Position each of the pyramids along the twine. Once happy with the spacing add double-sided tape to the twine that will sit inside the pyramids. Remove the final piece of backing paper from the last tab to complete the construction of the pyramid.
