Lack of supplies on storefront
I had ten minutes to pop into the store to stock up on artisan paints and linseed oil but there were barely any materials out, I find this happens a lot when I asked the staff who were all very friendly and helpful they said yes we don’t put it all out as people steal them and said they would go back and find the materials I needed. I don’t fault the staff at all but this is extremely annoying that I then had to wait ages for them to get the stock out for our back. My pop in the shop ended up half an hour waiting not very good at all. If I hadn’t of asked I would have left without buying anything. This isn’t the first time this has happened I regularly try and go and find the materials I need and the shelves are empty and end up shopping online.

The best range of canvases that Hobbycraft stock
I was seriously sad to find out the Hobby craft are dropping the larger canvases in this range. They are by far the best canvases sold by the company. I do use a lot of the smaller ones (Winsor & Newton Classic Canvas 50.8cm x 61cm) and will say that they are very good. So please, please Hobby craft don’t drop these from your range. I have already had to find another supplier for the larger Winsor & Newton Classic Canvas I use.

Great quality
The Windsor and Newton canvas has a well constructed sturdy frame that won't bend or lose it's shape. The surface of the canvas is regular and smooth and a great texture to paint on. They also provide small pieces of wood to inset into the corners to enhance the stretch of the canvas if it needs it. The weight of the canvas and frame is light, which makes carrying and storing easy.

Good canvas, but warped.
Good canvas, but Hobbycraft have not kept it in good condition. When I got it home it was clearly warped. The first one I bought was fine. It was the only one left so there was no point taking it back and even if a bit warped was better than the poor quality Hobbycraft own brand canvas.

great sturdy canvas
I really like this range of canvases. They are thicker and feel much more substantial and sturdy to paint on.
They are quite pricey compared to other ranges, but I suppose that is due to the quality of the cotton used. I would like the box to be slightly deeper.

I love these Windsor and Newton slim canvases, the primed surface is great for oil washes or a more impasto finish. They hang beautifully.
These canvases are well made, they don't buckle, therefore they hang snug against the wall. the primed surface is really good for different art approaches whether using brushwork, palette knife or adding stamp effects. the bonus is they are extremely good value.

Good quality canvas just what I need
I bought this canvas last week to do an oil portrait painting on it. It's with a great quality and the canvas is quite strong as well.
I am very happy with this purchase and will get the same brand next week for my next oil painting project .

Good Quality Canvas
For the price this is a good quality product. I used mine to create an impasto and I wasn’t sure if it would be sturdy enough to take the heavier paint. I was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend this product.
