This adorable little festive advent truck will bring lots of happy smiles in the lead up to Christmas, and personalising it with a name will make it that extra bit special.

How to make

Step 1

Start by painting the main body of the truck red. Paint all the advent doors inside and out. Paint Santa’s hat and coat and the front wheel panels red as well.

Step 2

Paint the driver compartment of the truck green and the wheels, steering wheel, Santa’s gloves and Santa’s base black.

Step 3

Use pencil to mark a beard onto to Santa. Paint the beard white and the face skin colour. Leave to dry, then draw on a smile and eyes using sharpies.

Step 4

Paint the headlights, centres of the wheels and all the door knobs gold.

Step 5

To make the lettering, find a font you like on your computer and print this out (here we used font size 150 but this will depend on the length of your name). Cut out the letters, line them up onto the side of the truck and add a tiny piece of masking tape to each one to hold in place.

Step 6

Draw around the letters using pencil, adjusting the tape as you go. Remove the paper letters and fill in the pencil lines with gold paint.

Step 7

Finally, stick on numbers 1-24 to the top left hand corners of all the little doors to represent the advent. Do this randomly on the front and back of the truck.
