How to make

Start by using a pencil to draw a guideline for you to follow when you painting on your design. This especially helps if you are doing a circular design. Measure roughly 1 cm away from the edge of coaster, drawing dots 1-2 cm apart from each other and then join them together like a dot to dot drawing.
Top Tip!…Have a go at painting different flowers and leaves onto a piece of paper before you go ahead and paint onto your coaster. By doing this, you can see what would work well.

Using a very thin brush, paint on your design. Painting a line over the top of the pencil line you have just done will help to keep it visible and then you can paint flowers and leaves over the top of this.

Once your paint has properly dried, you can now draw on your initial in the centre of the coaster. Create a guide using a pencil and then when your happy with the way it looks, draw over this with a Uni Posca pen (preferably ultra fine). These pens are great because you can virtually use them on any material and they are water resistant too!

To finish the look of your coaster add extra flowers to the border you have painted around the initial as well as under neath the initial. This will make your coaster look so much brighter and prettier. When properly dried, apply a sealant to the surface of your coaster to protect your design.

I hope you enjoy your next drink in style!
