How to make

Step 1

Start by using a pencil to draw a guideline for you to follow when you painting on your design. This is particularly useful if creating a circular design.

Measure approximately 1 m away from the edge of coaster, drawing dots 1 - 2 cm apart from each other and then join them together like a dot-to-dot drawing.

Step 2

Using a thin brush, paint your design using the pencil lines as a guide.

Step 3

Once the paint has dried, begin drawing the initial in the centre of the coaster. Create a guide using a pencil, once happy with the design draw over this with a paint marker (preferably ultra fine); these pens are ideal for this project as they're water resistant!

Step 4

To complete the coaster design, add flowers to the border and around, and underneath the initial Once dry, apply a sealant to the surface of your coaster to protect the design.

Step 5

Once the sealant has dried, your coaster is then ready to be used!
