Charity Partnerships

We’re passionate about helping our communities and welcome all crafting groups into our stores, providing a social centre for those in the local area. Furthermore, we are proud partners of Together for Short Lives and Mind, and our colleagues and customers help us raise vital funds to support these charities.

Making a difference in our communities

When a child’s life is expected to be short, there’s no time to waste. Together for Short Lives is the leading charity for the 99,000 babies, children and young people in the UK with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Together for Short Lives help seriously ill children and their families make the most of every moment they have together, whether that’s for years, months or only hours.

There are 53 children’s hospices across the UK. Local children’s hospice services are there from the moment of diagnosis, throughout a child’s illness, bereavement and beyond. They provide flexible, practical and free support at home or in the hospice to the entire family, often over many years. Each Hobbycraft store is partnered with their nearest children’s hospice, meaning that local families directly benefit from money raised locally.

Each day, families face enormous challenges, but they can also experience the magic of special times together. Our partnership makes all this possible.

What we do

Across our business Hobbycraft colleagues raise vital funds for children’s hospices in a variety of ways. Our stores host regular fundraising events that both colleagues and customers are encouraged to take part in. From crafting stations to cake sales, there are many opportunities to get involved and donate.

Outside of the stores, our colleagues take part in all sorts of challenge events to raise money, including the London Marathon, countryside treks, and even a coast-to-coast cycle.

We have a selection of products that have been created in partnership with Together for Short Lives, where proceeds are donated to support children’s hospices.

We donate crafting supplies for art therapy services at children’s hospices across the UK, as well as deliver crafting workshops for bereaved parents and parents caring for a seriously ill child.

Mind’s mission

One in four of us will experience a mental health problem every year, yet most of us don’t get the help we need. This has to change.

That’s why we’re supporting Mind. Mind campaign to change minds by working hard to hold the people in power to account, pushing for better care and services. Mind are there to offer information and support for anyone who needs it – on their website, through their online Side by Side community, and through the helplines they run.

Mind won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.

What we do

Our partnership brings together colleagues, customers and the community in the fight for mental health and promotes the well-being benefits of crafting.

We will showcase the positive impact arts and crafts can have on mental health and well-being, and help individuals discover the power of craft and its positive impact on well-being.

We will raise funds for Mind, via store fundraisers and customer donations, to directly support Mind’s essential mental health services. Every penny we raise goes to charity. 89% will go to Mind (the National Association for Mental Health, registered charity number 219830), 8% to Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH, charity number SC-008897), and 3% to Inspire (charity number 103470).
