Abbreviations: 

Dc- double crochet

St- stitch

Ch – chain

Ss- slip stitch

Dc2tog – double crochet 2 sts together

Pattern Note – this pattern is worked in a spiral so it is essential to mark each round.

Unicorn Egg Cover

Step-1

Using yarn A and 4mm hook start with a magic loop, 1ch, 4dc into ring Round 1: 2dc into each st (8sts)

Step-2

Round 2: (2dc into st, 1dc) repeat (12sts) Round 3: (2dc into st, 2dc) repeat (16sts) Round 4: (2dc into st, 3dc) repeat (20sts)

Step-3

Round 5: (2dc into st, 4dc) repeat (24sts) Round 6 to 13: 1dc into each dc

Step-4

Fasten off

Unicorn Horn:

Step-1

Using yarn e and 2.5mm hook ch6 and join into the round

Step-2

Round 1: 1dc into each st, ss to 1st dc Round 2 to 5: 1dc into each st, ss to 1st dc Round 6: (dc2tog, 1dc) repeat twice Round 7: dc2tog, 1dc

Step-3

Fasten off

Making Up:

Step-1

Attach horn to egg cover using photo as a guide.

Hair

Step-1

Using yarn d and e cut lengths of 12cm

Step-2

Using your crochet hook and a length of both d and e together, insert your hook through the egg cover where you want to position the hair, wrap the length around the hook and pull through to secure. Using the photo as a guide, repeat this process until you have the desired look.

Step-3

Using a tapestry needle and black yarn embroider the eyes on using back stitch.

Bunny Egg Cover:

Step-1

Work as for Unicorn Egg Cover

Bunny Ears (make 2)

Step-1

Using yarn a and 4mm hook ch8 and join into the round

Step-2

Round 1: 1dc into each st, ss to 1st dc Round 2 to 6: 1dc into each st, ss to 1st dc Round 7: (2dc, dc2tog) twice

Step-3

Round 8: 1dc into each st, ss to 1st dc Round 9: (2dc, dc2tog) twice

Step-4

Fasten off

Making Up:

Step-1

Using photo as a guide attached the ears to the side of the egg cover.

Step-2

Using a tapestry needle and black yarn embroider the eyes on using back stitch. Using yarn d and back stitch sew on the nose.

Dinosaur:

Step-1

 Work as for Unicorn cover using yarn b throughout

Dinosaur Spikes (make 3)

Step-1

Using yarn c and 4mm hook ch8 and join into round.

Step-2

Round 1: 1dc into each st, ss to 1st dc Round 2: (dc2tog, 2dc) twice Round 3: dc2tog to end

Step-3

Fasten off

Making Up:

Step-1

 Using the photo as a guide sew the spikes onto the egg cover starting at the top of the egg and working down the back in a line.

Step-2

Using a tapestry needle and black yarn embroider the eyes and nose on using back stitch.
