Gathered Tie Dye Cushion
Wash the cushion cover and keep damp. Cover your work surface with cling film then flatten out the cushion cover on top.
Starting in the middle, gather up the cover diagonally and secure with seven elastic bands.
Add water to all three colours then shake each one until the powder has dissolved.
Apply stripes of dye to the cover then turn over and repeat.
Wrap up the cover in the cling film for at least six hours then rinse until the water runs clear. Remove the elastic bands.
Wash the cover with a small amount of washing powder, leave to dry naturally then iron flat.
Spiral Tie Dye Cushion
Pinch the centre of the cover and while keeping it flat, twist into a circle.
Keep the twisted circle in place by attaching five elastic bands around it. Keep the spaces in between the bands equal.
Add water to all five colours then shake each one until the powder has dissolved.
Apply a colour to one section then to the section opposite it. Repeat with the other four colours. Turn the cover over and repeat.
Stick Tie Dye Cushion
Starting at the bottom concertina fold the cover into folds of approximately 5cm wide.
Turn the cover vertically then place two craft sticks either side of the cover near the top securing in place with elastic bands. Repeat the process down the rest of the cover.
Apply pink and blue dye next to the sticks then add small amounts of green in between. Turn the cover over and repeat.
Wrap up the cover in the cling film for at least six hours then rinse until the water runs clear. Remove the craft sticks.
