Strange smell!
I bought the board for a hobbit house cake I was making for my husband. When I unwrapped the packaging it had an awful plastic smell! I presumed this would dissipate and so carried on and used it. However, the smell stayed and actually affected the flavour of the bottom of the cake! It was ghastly! Overall it did a good job of being a sturdy base for my heavy cake, but the random smell left a bitter taste in my mouth and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Just what I needed
I bought this board to show of the cake I made for my husband. It did exactly what I needed. It was very sturdy looked great and was a very good price. There were all different sizes and shapes. Mine was a thick one but thinner ones were available and in different colours too. No problem matching your cake board to the theme of your party or celebration.

Silver cake board
Hobby craft has saved me again. Their selection of cake boards are great and the price is tight. They are the only shop in town to sell a selection of sizes and I could get a board for the diamond cake I have to make.

Not using as cake board
Iv been struggling to find canvas in this size and shape. As i wanted to turn some canvas bags into pictures. So i bought these and have used them to staple the canvas bags around them. Have turned out great

Silver 13 Inch Square Cake Board
A wide range of sizes I always get my cake boards from here, all of them are sturdy and capable of heavy weights. They all fit the cake boxes as well which is a added bonus.

Ideal size
Didn't think you could buy 13" cake boards as my local shops have stops selling them. I find it's an ideal size when royal icing a 12" cake.
