Excellent value
Ive written pretty much the same review for the black and white pastels as they are much the same. I've had these pastels a year while doing a life drawing night class. They have a really good range of colours and great coverage on sugar paper. The only down side is one or two have seemed to have a kind of waxy surface to them, and I've had to rub them on a spare piece of paper first to get below this. They also crumble easier than other more expensive pastels, but for a quarter of the price I've found them excellent value. Most weeks I complete at least one A2 picture with heavy shading from the pastels and I still have most of the pack left. I recommend these pastels especially if you're just starting with pastels and want to 'have a go'.

Inexpensive, colourful, and long lasting
12 rich and vibrant colours from which to select.
Item appears to have a long life span -
should provide extensive usability.
Tray design prevents colours bleeding in to each other.
Packaging clearly states range of colours available.
Box prevents dust and debris collecting.
Sensible pricing, ideal for those on a limited budget.

Not great but definitely worth the money!!
I bought this product as I didn't own any soft pastels and they were a really good price! The quality of the product isn't great and the colours I feel are weakly pigmented compared to the more expensive products, however if you're looking for a simple set of pastels to start off with then they're definitely worth buying.

This product is long lasting.
The soft chalk pastels I have used a number of times and they are still holding strong each piece of art looks as fresh and new as the pastels themselves. I have enjoyed using them and will continue buying everything I need from Hobbycraft so thank you for great quality products.

Just what I was looking for
Found these wonderful pastels whilst browsing for other art materials. Although a budget item they are fantastic! They are perfect for my new found hobby or book folding. Will be buying them in future and have recommended them to friends from my craft group already!

Great value for money
Pastels get used up quickly are usually very expensive, but these are affordable enough to be able to buy several packets. These have a good variety of colours, but they don't always have a white, which I think they should.

this product was exactly what I was looking for
This product was perfect as it was cheap and was an excellent quality.It had all the colours I needed and because it was so cheap if I needed another one I could buy it straight away instead of saving up for it.

Beautiful
I recently started drawing and painting again and these colours were perfect, right texture so I can smudge and mix them with ease brought me back to my childhood
