How to Make Roman Mosaics
All parents know that getting started with mosaics can be tricky, so I'm on hand with this how to make Roman mosaics project which needs very little to get started. It's perfect as a school project that the kids can really get involved with, or simply as a fun weekend craft activity.

How to make
Start by deciding on your design, we've got a simple crown template you can download and cut out of card, or you can come up with your own. Paper plates make a great base for sun's and face's for example.
Get your mosaic parts ready, tear or cut up coloured tissue and scrunch into balls, cut coloured card into squares, pick your gems. Get a lot of glue ready in a pot.
Now for the fun part, get sticking, the best bit about a mosaic is that it doesn't have to perfect and you can mix and match what you use. All scrunched up tissue, a mix of card and gems, a little bit of everything. With the tissue I found it best to dip and stick, with the card and gems I preferred to cover the base and then place my mosaic pieces.
When dry you can trim any excess bits off and your mosaic is complete.
