Tails of Africa
This was purchased as an extra-curricular art activity for my 7 year old, who's learning about the African wildlife and culture at school. We used yellow tissue paper and watery PVA to entirely cover the body. The painstaking time it took to help an independent 7 year old, but not take over, is unquantifiable.
We then selected not one, but TWO shades of brown fuzzy felt to capture the warmth of the spots - FUN FACT: Did you know, each giraffe has unique spots?! Have you ever tried cutting felt with children's scissors? Honestly, you might get better results bashing it with a rock!
No funky animal is complete without its Goooogley Eyes! Especially when they are so very carefully placed upon the face with the precision and execution of a fruit bat!
After umpteen hours' drying time, our vibrant, tactile giraffe model is ready to be named before school.
Everybody, meet... Moo.

Great fun
My 10 year old daughter had so much fun decorating this giraffe with duck tape, she's planning on getting more animals from the store. Love Hobbycraft!

A great quality product which means a great result!!
I really enjoyed decopatching this giraffe as my first project. It is solid and much sturdier than I thought it would be making it easy to handle and cover. It is made of good quality material which means the giraffe didn't become soggy when the glue was applied and the surface was smooth and the paper applied well and looked good.

Papier-mâché giraffe
I'm new to crafting so still finding my round card making. I took my 15 year old granddaughter with me and was enthralled at the papier-mâché section . We bought 2 giraffes and paint and she set to work. Hopefully she will do more. Art isn't one of her subjects but found it relaxing in between revising for her mock exams.

Lovely size and sturdy
Bought to decopatch or a friend’s birthday, turned out really well, easy to decopatch, sturdy and features weren’t lost under giraffe decopatch paper. She loved it. Great idea and only took me 2 hours with distractions.

Fab!
Covered this in giraffe print paper to stand next to my larger deco patch giraffe and it looks great! So much fun to do as well. Would definitely recommend.
