Perfect for Montessori style loose parts play!
Whilst in Hobbycraft I bought a selection of things for my nearly 1 year old. These wooden figures have proven to be most popular with him.
They are advertised as 'decorate you own' but actually I loved them just as they were. They were a great addition to his natural wood loose parts play and have allowed open ended play opportunities.
They sit perfectly in the Hobbycraft 4 part wooden tray set along with a few of there other natural pieces. We chose pinecones and log slices which he plays with under supervision.
The dolls look to be made from one piece of wood with no joins and are completely smooth so I was happy for my boy to play with them without worry that they might fall apart. Such a great addition to our loose parts collection!

Great price
Considering how large these are the price is fantastic! Personally I would need to choose my own pack from the store rather than order these online purely so that I can check the quality. In some packs the wood was quite knotty around the head areas which is not ideal when the purpose of these figures is to paint them. I don't know how easy it would be to disguise the knots with paint. Overall though these are excellent!

Environmentally friendly alternative
Have bought these for my daughter for Christmas for her dolls house; she wanted her to create her own 'family' for her dolls house, giving her the freedom to create what she wants and these are ideal! She's 8 years old and is understanding the impact of plastic on the planet and chose to make a difference! Loving having a new store near us! :) x

Great size! Fun to decorate!
These caught our eye because they’re a great size to decorate and add lots of detail too! Paint pens worked great on them. We added lots of craft bits like plastic eyes, mini pom poms and gems to transform them for a school project. Really good fun to use. Look forward to using them again.

Large peg dolls
This is not the first time I have bought these. My little one loves painting these with me and we have made quite a few new dolls with them - from angels to robbers to strongmen! Great fun for little imaginations. Never disappointed with the quality which is why we always go back for more!
