I’ve always found the yarn I buy from Hobbycraft is really good value and I’m addicted to the multi coloured collections. At the moment I am halfway through a throw using Hayfield Spirit in beautiful grey, purple, white and bluey tones and it is crocheting up lovely. However I have one gripe. When I first pull the wool from the centre it’s ok for awhile then comes out in a big clump then tangles and takes ages to undo and rewind. I wonder if anyone else has this problem.
I love going into our store in Teesside the staff are so helpful and informative it’s a pleasure to chat to them.

knot in wool destroying colour sequence
wool knits up well but visual success depends upon colours as this is a variegated wool. I was therefore disappointed when in the first ball there was a knot that joined the mid grey range to Dark blue missing out a half the greys and half the violets. This forced me to remove a good section of wool to restore pattern and even then It is not perfect. Whereas a break in the wool can be catered for in single coloured wool much more care is needed by manufacturer in variegated wool

Great wool
Lovely wool used it to crochet a hat which I am very pleased with. I also bought the same wool but in different colour and used this to knit a jumper for my little dog. The wool was very good for both crochet and knitting.

Lovely yarn , shades of purpled really pretty
Great to have a yarn that has some wool content .smooth and easy to knit with . I’m using a circular needle and yarn slides easily . Great choice of colours and well priced . My jacket will cost under £20 .

Great self-patterning knitting yarn
I wanted to try another colour variation of this knitting yarn. I have already knitted fingerless mittens and a beanie hat in a blue mix of Hayfield "Spirit".

Soft yet sturdy
I love this yarn. This is the second colour of this range that I have used and it did NOT disappoint. The colour run in this is even better than in the blue.
