5 Fun & Easy Drawing Ideas for Kids

Cat - Step 1
Start by Drawing a big ‘C’ Shape to create the face and add two upside-down V shapes for the ears.
Cat - Step 2

For the cat eye draw a sideways lemon shape, one touching the side of the face and one further into the head.

 

Add a small upside-down triangle and a small line for the nose and mouth.

Cat - Step 3

To draw the closest leg, start with a downward line and create a ‘d’ shape, finishing with the upward line.

 

Then, draw another downward line and curve to create the furthest leg.

Step 4

Add a small downward line from the ear to create a neck.

 

Draw a curve connecting the cat’s neck and leg to create the body.

 

Add in the back leg using the same methods used on step 3.

Cat - Step 5

Add the tail using a curved line and add details and markings to the cat’s tail and body.

 

Add two lines on each side of the face to create the whiskers.

Cat - Step 6

Finally add in any more details you wish and colour in your favourite cat colours. You can always add marking whilst colouring too!

 

There you have your very own cat drawing!

Dog - Step 1
Start by drawing one big loop for the dog’s face and connect a smaller loop for the ear.
Dog - Step 2

Add a semi-circle on the outside of the face and a full circle next to the ear to create the eyes.

 

Draw an upside-down triangle for the nose and small line for the mouth.

Dog - Step 3

To draw the closest leg, start with a downward line and create a ‘b’ shape, finishing with the upward line.

 

Then, draw another downward line to create the furthest leg.

Dog - Step 4
Draw a curve connecting the dog’s ear and leg to create the body. Add in the back leg using the same methods used on step 3.

Dog - Step 5
Draw a circle under the dog’s chin and a line following the line of the chin to create the collar strap. Add in the tail by drawing an upside-down V shape. You can always add a name to your dog’s collar if you wish!
Step 6

Add in any details you wish like patches and marking to give your dog more character.

 

Then, colour in your dog with whatever colours you wish.

 

There you have your very own dog drawing!

Fish - Step 1
Start by drawing a ‘V’ shape backwards and then slowly loop around it to create a round shape.

Fish - Step 2
Draw one eye just above the edge of the mouth and on the outside of the shape created in step 1.
Fish - Step 3
Add the tail fin by starting with a sharp shape at the top and curved line at the bottom. Add lines for detail.
Fish - Step 4
Add in a dorsal fin by drawing a curved upside down ‘V’ shape and add another fin in the middle of the fish’s body. Add lines for detail.
Fish - Step 5

Use some curved shapes to create some fish scales on the body and then the drawing is ready for colouring!

 

There you have your very own fish drawing!

Parrot - Step 1

Start by drawing a ‘V’ shape to create a beak near the top of your page.

 

Then, slowly loop around it to create a round shape for the parrot head.

Parrot - Step 2
Draw one eye on the outside of the face next to the beak and the add the other eye to the opposite side, connected to the beak.
Parrot - Step 3

Start by drawing a curved line going downward into a point to create a wing.

 

Add some line details for the feathers.

Parrot - Step 4

Draw a curved shape connecting the bottom of the beak to the lower half of the wing.

 

Then, draw the second wing on the far side of the parrot’s body.

Parrot - Step 5
For the feet, start with some curved shapes to create the parrot’s talons. Repeat this for the other foot using a slightly different angle.
Parrot - Step 6
Draw in the parrot’s tail but creating a ‘M’ shape on the far side of its wing. Draw a jagged shape on the back side of the head for detail.
Parrot - Step 7

Finally draw in some jagged shapes on the body to add some feather detail.

 

Then, colour the parrot any colour of the rainbow!

Rabbit - Step 1
To begin, draw a big circle in the middle of the page and add two smaller circles inside it to create the face and eyes.

Rabbit - Step 2
Draw in two curved shapes for the ears and add a smaller curved line inside for the rabbit’s inner ear.

Next, draw an upside triangle connected to the two eyes to create the nose.

 

Add a small line for a mouth on one side and two lines each side of the face for whiskers.

Rabbit - Step 4
Draw two arched lines down from the head to create the body and two ‘U’ shapes for the rabbit’s paws.

Rabbit - Step 5

Firstly, draw a ‘C’ shape on the left side of the body and extend the line close to the rabbit’s paw.

 

Then, do the same in reverse on the opposite side creating the feet. Connect the feet with a curved line in the middle.

Rabbit - Step 6

Add some circles to create the rabbit’s feet pads and then you can begin colouring in any colour you wish!

 

There you have your very own rabbit drawing!
