Let the year go out in style by making your own party poppers! Fun and easy to make, these party poppers can be made with general household materials and allow you to shower friends and family with confetti. They’re perfect for New Year’s Eve and more.

The party poppers can be made in any colours you choose and give you a fun burst of sprinkles when you release them.

How to make

Step 1

Using scissors cut off the tip of the balloon.

Step 2

Knot the end of the balloon.

Step 3

Stretch the balloon onto the cardboard tube

Step 4

Cut some of the duck tape and wrap it around to cover the join where the balloon meets the cardboard tube

For a recycled version – you could use toilet roll tubes and left over holes cut from a hole punch.

Step 5

Add some confetti to the top of the tube - a couple of spoonfuls is perfect depending on how big you want the confetti shower to be! To pop, pull the knotted part of the balloon back and release.

Your party poppers are now ready to use!
