Good in parts.
Nice to see the ARC170 again. Very good figures, great improvement. A model of highs and lows. Scaled down from previous releases which is a shame. Some rather odd dimensions, e.g. the wigs seem too short but this can be remedied with the addition of some larger/ extra plates etc., but the body is more of a challenge. It is much too narrow. The nose is also too short, again adding some extra bricks and tiles resolves this. Good shape though. Cannons are another oddity. Overall it has a good appearance and the wing mechanism is great, but that size/proportion issue…

Impressive
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Star wars Lego set has been an incredible addition to my current Lego collection for my little boy. They comes in separate bags making it very convenient to use and helps with building and locating different parts. The instructions are detailed and helps to make it even easier. It comes with Lego separater so incase of any mistakes you can easily detach them . My son has spent past week role playing and playing with various parts. It’s very alike the real Star Wars and adds more to the adventure and experience. I will highly recommend it as it’s fun and a very relaxing activity .

Overall great minus the stickers
This was a fun build, the wing mechanisms works great. The mini figures look detailed too. It’s a sold feeling fighter and I love the style, this is my first fighter type that I’ve built, I was however disappointed with the stickers, especially the ones over the windshields. I managed to get a finger print mark on one, there isn’t any way to avoid that if your finger goes over the clear part apart from printing onto the Lego from the start.
I would recommend it, other than the poor sticker choice I do think it looks great

Disappointing, for the price.
I won’t beat around the bush, this set is overpriced for what you actually get. The wings are too small compared to the fuselage, and there are far too many stickers. Once again, the ‘photos’ on the box don’t correspond to reality in terms of the colour of the white stickers applied to the cockpit windshields, which amounts to false advertising. The bottom is excessively blocky and if you don’t put the Astromech in the ship it has a massive hole in the top, which is certainly undesirable. Negatives aside the pilots are great minifigures, although there’s no excuse for the astromech not to have printing on both sides and the pilots could have benefited from dual-moulded legs - the omission of both of these smacks of cheap cost cutting. The ship is generally pretty sleek and the design is clean, so there’s that going for it at least. Despite all the (utterly and inexcusably avoidable) flaws, it’s still possibly the best ARC-170 available at the moment given the price you’d have to pay for either of the older models, and so at a decent discount it’s worth picking up for anyone who doesn’t already have one in their collection, but not at the RRP.

FALSE ADVERTISING
The stickers look horrible when compared to the pictures. The white doesn't match the white of the brick. The set also doesn't have an accurate white to red ratio on the wings making the build look off. It's also significantly smaller than previous models which is quite sad and also quite expensive. Definitely wait for a discount before buying this or any star wars set for that matter.

Really pleasing
As the title says the build and the end result are really pleasing. The detail is pretty good for this size of model and it’s a great addition to any collection. The mechanism for opening and closing the wings is great and much better than that on some of the larger models. The only downside to this model is that there is no stand included for those of us that like to display not play!

Great ARC 170
Missed out on the previous ARC 170 Lego sets. My goodness it was worth the wait to get this great build. Perfect size and good value for money. Enjoyed the build experience. Fantastic mini figures. One very please builder.
