Not so magical after all
I bought one of these as a gift for a friend who is into papercrafting. Conceptually it's perfect; the heavy cardstock, paper, stickers, labels etc. invite a host of creative applications, and it's a pretty sizeable product for the price.
After actually looking through it in more detail, though, I can't in good conscience gift this to anyone. The art inside is almost all AI-generated rubbish. I can't find any disclosure in the book or on the website here that says so, but the telltale signs of AI art are everywhere. There's also a lack of care in how it's arranged (e.g. the paper packages that are wedged between the pages bend the card around them, and the gel that they're tacked on with leaves greasy stains on the pages behind) that I don't think would have happened if the people putting it together were handling real art that they'd paid for.
Honestly, it's very disappointing. If this product had been made with human artwork, and a reasonable level of effort and care, it could have been great. To Hobbycraft: please stop selling this lazy, AI-filled slop.
