Had my eye on this series for a long time as the quality of paper and designs (at first glance) are cute, however at £25 per book, felt they are priced a little steep.
However, on my birthday, i got my £5 voucher and, yay! I know exactly what i want.
On closer inspection of some of the designs, i'm suspIcious that these book contain designs using generative AI. The telltale signs being background script that isn't a real alphabet/language and mistakes in lines and drawings that an artist or designer simply would not make.
I've made a point recently of avoiding buying craft items from certain online retailers as i've noticed a lot of AI images being used. I'd rather pay extra for a product that has paid an artist for their work. Given that hobbycraft sells items for people to make art, I had assumed that they would not be supportive or stock products that use AI because y'know, that would look bad. I'm sad to say that I was wrong in that assumption.
