Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful knit shame about knots I absolutely love this yarn made an oversized scarf, the one thing I was rather upset about was paying £7 per ball and a lot of them had multiple knots which created an issue with continuity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chunky wool It's too chunky. When you come to sow it up I could not find a needle with a big enough eye to enable me to stitch it up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely and snuggly. Love the yarn, it has a lovely texture and is perfect for a blanket.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Knot Again Very disappointed as halfway through both balls of wool there was a knot where the yarn had been broken. This happens so often and it is really annoying. The quality control obviously doesn’t exist. You pay enough for these products you expect them to be made properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Knits up to make a lovely garment - but My pattern said to use super chunky, but this is the thickest super chunky I have found. It is taking twice as much wool to knit the jumper I wanted, but it does give a very thick/warm jumper. There are a few knots in the wool, but it knits up very fast. On the needles I have, I cannot do more than 50 stitches, so get a circular needle of your pattern has more stitches than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely wool be careful which stitch you use! A lovely product it be careful of the needle size you use. This is the second scatter cushion I have knitted with this wool. The first was on 6 and a half needles mm double moss stitch. Knitted up quickly and easily. Second one was on size ten mm knit only. Very stiff to work - the texture of a floor carpet. Not a quick knit at all. Very punishing on the hands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely yarn, but too pricey for larger projects This is lovely yarn, but at £7 each which with my project of a throw, doing around 10 lines per ball, it would take around 10 balls to make a decent size, so this would be a blanket I would be too worried to use at £70! Shame as it is lovely, but maybe more suitable for smaller projects, say a hat.

How much of this yarn would i need for an adult blanket?

Asked by: Xenna
To give you an idea, on our projects page we have a blanket with tassels that measures 120cm x 120cm, and this uses 8 balls of this yarn.

whats the best yarn to you gor a newboen baby blanket

Asked by: Feza
Personally, I wouldn't choose a chunky yarn for a baby blanket, I would go for a soft, lightweight 2-ply, as layers are better than weight for the changeable temperatures of English weather.
