Sorry to find that the bead section is now hidden amongst the Reduced items on the upper floor.
Fortunately, I was able to find the very item I needed in the beading section, but I was disturbed to find that this department is now hidden amongst the Reduced Items on the upper floor. Does this mean that you are planning to get rid of this section altogether, just when Beading as a craft is taking off on a grand scale? Specialist beading shops are to be found in several parts of the county, although Northampton is sadly lacking in this area. Although I have bought beads on a number of occasions at Hobbycraft, I find the quality of seed beads not as good as in, say, Coleman's Craft Centre in Rushden. However, as always, the staff were as helpful as they could be. I always enjoy visiting the shop, whatever my needs!

Lovely beads
I bought a ton of these in different sizes because I wanted to make quite a few different garlands. They're really nice quality and smooth so they don't catch on fabrics

This product has many creative possibilities at the moment I'm using them to make Fairies, angels & Dollies.
With school holidays soon here I like to plan activities that not only occupy but also give children ( and adults) the chance to let their creativity go wild. These wooden beads I use for heads on Fairies, angels & Dollies using knitting yarn for hair and wooden coffee stirrers for arms & legs. Then with a stash of lace/ fabrics etc and felt pens/ glitter the results are really rewarding. Photos available on request.

Wooden beads are what they are
Wood bead balls.. basically says what it is on the pack. The middle hole it rather small have too drill a bigger hole for what I need them for, not a great price for the amount you get... cheaper on eBay & come with a decent sized middle hole you don’t have to drill out negative though waiting for delivery from eBay. Wont purchase again From hobbycraff save money n time

Perfect for adding variety to a garland
I made a Christmas garland by drying out orange slices and stringing them onto twine. I used a couple of these wooden beads between each slice and it added a nice variety of textures and tones. The holes in these beads were just big enough to poke twine through with a bit of sellotape on the end of the twine to stop it fraying.

Macrame leaves
I was inspired by some macrame leaves I had seen and watched a few tutorials and thought I could do that. I think they would look good with my African feel living room. The beads as you can see added a nice touch.

smooth choice of sizes
smooth round wooden beads with holes in, unfortunately the holes are not all the same size so when trying to put chenile sticks thorough some just weren't big enough, so needed to drill with a small drill bit.
