Can you use this to help preserve ultrasound pictures?

I don't know if this will last a long time for the scan photo. Maybe it's better to go to a photography shop and get some acid and lignan free paper for these photos. hope this helps?

Can you use for appliqué designs and machine stitch the fabric pieces onto base fabric without the needle getting sticky ?

Owing to the sticky nature of these sheets to provide a permanent adhesion, if using with needles some sticky residue is likely to form on the needle.

Could these be used for sticking self adhesive kitchen tiles?

No, they are more for paper projects. Kitchen tiles need tile paste which is strong enough for ceramic tiles, you can buy tile adhesive from B&Q or similar shops.
