How to Customise Drinking Jars with Hand Lettering

Print off the worksheet provided (download this by scrolling to the bottom of the screen) and choose a word you'd like to use for your jar.

Cut this out using the outline given.

Place the piece of paper inside the jar and secure in position using washi tape.

To use your POSCA pen, make sure you shake the pen first and press down until you see the ink come through the nib.

Carefully write out your word or phrase using the piece of paper inside as a guide.

Take your time when writing and split your letters into sections and write them out slowly.

A top tip when lettering: pause each time you write out a section but make sure you don't press down on the pen when you stop as it will make a dotted mark, instead lift your pen and then start again.

Remove the piece of paper inside the jar. You should now see your wonderful lettering.

If you need to go over it to make the colour pop more, do so, but be careful as you don't want to make the lettering too thick!

Top Tip: If you made any mistakes, you can rub this off using a damp cloth. Make sure this is done as soon as possible.

If you fancy writing your own personalisation, think of a word or a couple of words that are not too long so it would fit around the jar.

Measure the area you want to write on, outline this on a piece of paper and cut this out.
