How to Decoupage a Pumpkin

Difficulty Beginner
Budget < £10
Time 1 hr +

If you’ve not got time to carve a real pumpkin this Halloween, why not get the whole family involved with decoupaging a mache one instead?

Decoupgaing is super easy to do and you can let you imagination run riot with how you want to personalise your pumpkin. I’ve kept mine simple using a patterned decorative paper, but you could also use glitter glue, gem embellishments or stickers to make your pumpkin stand out.

You will need

How to make

Start by cutting or ripping up your decoupage paper into strips or any shape of your choice (I used squares and rectangles)

Spread some glue onto the pumpkin then use the brush to pick up and position a piece of paper on top of the pumpkin. Add more glue to the paper to fix it in place.

Continue to do this until the whole pumpkin has been covered.

Leave to dry.

For an extra spooky looking pumpkin you could pop an LED tea light inside – do not use a naked flame.
