How to make

Step-1
Using a large paint brush, paint a coat of chalk paint onto the surface of the crate. Leave this coat of paint to dry and if needed, apply another coat. Use a smaller, finer brush to paint harder to reach areas.

Step-2
You will need sandpaper for this next step. This will be used to create a 'shabby chic' style to the crate. I definitely recommend using a finer sandpaper (anywhere between 600-1000 grit) as you only want to sand some of the paint to create a slightly worn look.

Step-3
For this step, you will need acrylic paint, masking tape, a stencil and sponge. Before stencilling the letters onto the crate, try to visualise the placement of each letter as well as how much space is needed for each word being created. Use masking tape to mask any areas that you don't want to stencil and then lightly dab paint with a sponge on the chosen letter. If you use too much paint, it may leak under the stencil so bare this in mind when applying paint. Leave each letter to dry before moving on to the next letter you need to stencil.

Step-4
Finish off the look of your Shabby Chic Christmas Eve Box using ribbons and bells.
