How to Make an Easy Daffodil Bouquet

Celebrate St David’s Day with the traditional flower! Sunshine yellow daffodils are synonymous with spring, but did you know they are also the national flower of Wales?

These super-easy paper blooms will be sure to add a pop of colour to your mantelpiece. They can be made from a handful of craft basics that you may find you already have at home. This is a great project to enjoy with the kids and your daffodils will make a wonderful gift idea for loved ones.

You Will Need

* A Pencil

* Mini Glue Dots or PVA Glue

* Tape

* A Cardboard Egg Box

* Yellow Paint

* Yellow Card

* Green Paper Straws

* Something round to draw around

Step 1

Cut out all the little recesses that hold the eggs in the box along with the two dividers in the middle.

Step 2

Paint each of these carboard egg box pieces yellow and leave to dry.

Step 3

Find something round to draw around roughly the size that you’d like the Daffodils to be - approximately 10cm is a good size - we’ve used a coaster, but you could use a mug, tin or a plant pot. Cut out the amount of circles that you’d like in your bouquet.

Step 4

Fold the circle in half and then half again giving you a quarter circle. Then cut out come curvy triangles to make the petals - this is the same as making a paper snowflake! Open out the circle.

Step 5

Place a straw centrally on the back of the flower head and then tape in place to secure.

Step 6

Place a glue dot in the centre of the flower, and then press on the egg carton piece to finish the daffodil. Repeat to make the whole bouquet.

Top Tip: If you don’t have any glue dots to hand, PVA or Tacky Glue works just as well!

Step 7

Once all of Daffodils within the bouquet are complete, they're then ready to displayed in pride of place in your home, or why not gift to a loved one?!
