How to Make Dyed Napkins with Dylon

Ideal for beginners, this step-by-step guide will show you how to dye napkins using Dylon and your washing machine. Not only will you get fabulous results, but you'll also be able to discover a cheaper alternative to making napkins, too!

How to make
Add your fabric to the washing machine with a pod of Dylon and follow the instructions.
Note: one pod was enough to dye 2m of plain fabric.
Once your fabric is dyed, washed, and dried, on a flat surface, use your measuring tape to cut the fabric into 30cm strips. To do this, snip into the selvedge edge and then tear the rest of the fabric, this will give you your rustic edge.
When you've cut all your strips to size, do the same vertically, you should be able to get three 35cm napkins from one strip. Make a small snip into the fabric again and then tear them down the centre.
Once you have all of your napkins, take your time trimming the edges down and making them look as neat as possible. You can press the fabric depending on your preference, but I quite like the texture from dying the fabric.
Fold all of your napkins depending on your preference and there you have it – beautiful rustic napkins for a fraction of the price of store brought ones!
