Gorgeous calendar and great fun to decorate
This is the first craft project I have ever attempted. The calendar is really big & sturdy, I bought it along with hobbycraft brand acrylic paints (x1 red, x1 green and x1 white was plenty) and decorated the doors with number stickers and metallic markers. For the white in particular I would recommend a couple coats and a mini roller for a smooth look. I’m really pleased with the finished product!

I loved this project
I really enjoyed decorating this advent calendar for my daughter. I read other reviews saying that it warped after I'd bought it so I was a bit worried but mine was fine and there drawers all fit. I didn't paint it though, I sprayed the drawers white and the frame red and they all work fine. My daughter loves it so it was time well spent and hopefully it will last for years to come.

Brilliant Box
No I’m not intending to use this as an advent calendar, although it’s a great one! This is gong to be a box of secrets and curiosities for our grandson’s birthday next July…so we’ve got plenty of time to paint all the drawers in different hobbycraft colours and then find all sorts of random bits to fill them with - from marbles to magnets and shells to soldiers. Brilliant box of wonders. Thanks for this….it’s perfect.

Christmas advent calendar for life
Purchased for my 3 year old so I never have to by a throw away one for him! I have really enjoyed decorating it, my only problem was there isn't much give for painting layers, so once painted they are a bit stiff. I used acrylic paint and a branded pva matte layer, accessories were from hobbycraft

Do these drawers fit Lindor balls? Particularly the smaller drawers?
Yes they do. The bigger drawers can even take the Cadbury chocolate figures

Hello. I used acrylics for my whole advent calendar and these worked well. Some of the drawers are quite stiff so I perhaps suggest sanding some of the corners prior to painting. I find that the acrylics didn’t leave that sticky shine so were able to open and close drawers with ease. I did 2/3 on each , depending what the colour was.
