Excellent Value for Money
I was a little apprehensive when I bought this product as a replacement for my worn out Olfa cutting mat. I had the Olfa mat for years - had paid a lot of money for it and wanted to buy the same brand again but lack of funds were proving to be a problem! Yes there are differences, the olfa board has inches and one side and centimetres on the other - the Hobbycraft board has measurements on one side only but I like this as I use both when working and I don't have to turn the mat over in a confined space. The blank side can still be used for cutting when the measuring grids are not needed so this will extend the life of the board so all is not lost. It has not had much use at the moment but only time will tell regarding its true quality but for £18 I'm more than happy with my replacement board.

Excellent value
Only issue is that the same product is priced up very differently in two sections. Sewing at £32 and art at £18. I pity those that don't look in the art section

good quality
This cutting mat has proved really useful. It protects my table top and is great for measuring and cutting fabric (especially with a rotary cutter). It's a good size and was a reasonable reduced price. I would recommend this product.

Self healing cutting mat
Large A1 self healing cutting mat
Perfect for quilt work
I used this mat and my brand new rotary cutting blade when cutting numerous fabric strips and the mat was unscathed

Perfect and fit for purpose
I was overjoyed to find this large mat at a sensible price.
It works well and will see lots of use.
To store it flat, it lives under the sofa

Not “true” self-healing, poor quality alternative
Only partially self-healing, not the kind of high quality “true” self-healing I was expecting. I Didn’t realise there were different qualities of self-healing and this mat leaves raise lines / ridges, it doesn’t fully heal. In addition to this, I used a very low tack masking tape during making and placed it along the whole edge of my mat. When I removed the masking tape it lifted the yellow print on the mat which is there to be used as a measuring guide - I would maybe expect this after many uses but it was the first time I used the mat. The tape was genuine frog tape, used by professionals to stop paint lifting. So I would rate this mat poor quality for those reasons.

Great for cutting fabric
I wanted this mat not only for artwork but to be able to cut out fabric for dressmaking using a roller cutter (much smoother action). The size is great for this. It will allow me to see where I cutting and the fabric won't move, or slide, on the cutting mat.

This cutting mat is well made and designed.
The large mat has been really useful, making cutting fabric on the cross so much easier because of the range of marked angles and measurement lines. It's great to use.
