oil paint and canvas
I have recently started to use Hobycraft rather than buying on line. I love the experience of visiting the store in Hereford, browsing and choosing my paint and canvas at leisure. I find the special offers far out do the offers from other companies. To sum up, I have time, experience, choice and a friendly chat when I visit Hobycraft and it is part of my love of creating art

Faulty canvas
Went to art class with the new canvas. It was only when paint was applied i could see damage to the canvas. There was no point in continuing painting so sat for 2 hours in class doing nothing. Very disappointing. Also, when I took it back to Hobbycraft later that day, the staff were not helpful and made me feel like I was the problem bringing back a faulty item.

Perfect size for my paint-by-numbers project
I was hoping to buy a canvas stretching kit for my paint-by-numbers Christmas gift but couldn't find one to match the size of my canvas. This pre-stretched canvas was the perfect size for me to stretch my paint-by-numbers canvas over the top, and made it more sturdy for my painting project. Very happy

Very good canvas
My boys and I love to paint and these canvasses do the job both for me (in my forties) and the boys - aged under ten. There is just enough texture in the canvas for me to use oils with quite thickly and the boys can work or glide their acrylics in. We repeat purchase.

The canvas I purchased was found damaged when opened.
I was was very disappointed by the lack of choice offered in the Watford store, very few sizes of painting surfaces available. As a local art tutor I am now reluctant to recommend for my students to obtain their art requirements from Hobbycraft.

Versatile product
I bought a stretch canvas to use for a reason other than to paint on this time. I wanted a frame for a piece of art I bought which was painted on board. I stuck it on it with gorilla tape and voila a nice 'light' framed art work on my thin wall.

I have used these stretch canvases now for two or three years for oil paintings, many of which have been sent or carried to my family abroad. I am pleased that despite all the handling and travel they have proved tough, reliable and consistent
