FAQs About Sublimation Paper
Sublimation paper is specially coated for heat transfer printing. It's used to transfer designs onto polyester fabrics and sublimation-compatible surfaces like mugs, coasters, and T-shirts.
No, sublimation paper must be used with a sublimation printer and sublimation ink. Standard inkjet or laser printers are not compatible with sublimation printing.
Sublimation works on polyester fabrics and coated substrates such as ceramic, metal, or polymer surfaces. It won’t work on cotton or uncoated items, as the ink requires a polymer base to bond.
Always print on the coated side of the sublimation paper. After printing, let the ink dry fully before heat pressing at the recommended time, temperature, and pressure for the blank you are using.
Sublimation paper is for use with sublimation ink and polyester materials, offering permanent, vibrant prints. Heat transfer paper can be used with pigment ink and works on a broader range of textiles.
Store sublimation paper in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Keep it flat in its packaging to prevent curling or warping, which may affect print quality.
