Best not to mix with Hama beads
I bought these as I didn't want to wait for the delivery of the Hama beads I was using. They are good quality and are consistent shapes/lengths. I just wouldn't recommend mixing them with Hama beads as the Hobbycraft ones take a lot longer to melt. I used the black Hobbycraft picture beads for the outline and Hama beads for the colour infill. The Hama beads have heavily melted whereas the outline is only lightly fused together and the beads sit a lot higher (they were all the same height before ironing). I also damaged my bead plate by putting too much pressure on with the iron, trying to get them to fuse.

Great craft for your imagination
These beads are great to keep kids and adults interested by using the imagination. You can also use the internet to use for ideas too. Plenty of patterns about, for your topics.

Rubbish
These are a cheaper version of Hama Beads. Unfortunately, these are not good at all. They do not fuse together properly when ironed and a lot of them are different sizes and therefore can’t be used.
Worst purchase I’ve made, wish I’d have paid the extra for the official beads.
Would NOT recommend!

Perfect for the job

Don't melt properly
These didn't melt very well. They took a long time to melt at all and then went all of a sudden, which made the picture look bad. They also fell apart after ironing because some had melted too much but some had not melted enough to stick together. Other beads I've used (Hama and Smyths) have melted much more evenly. It's a shame Hobbycraft don't sell more individual colours of Hama beads.

Great value
I make a lot of bead pictures which use a lot of black in the outlines. These melt well with other brands and are a lot cheaper when you need a big amount.

Stick with Hama Beads
