The aircraft was built in 1942 at the Canadian Car Foundry and initially went to the 123rd Canadian Squadron. It survived the war and in 1985 was restored so perfectly that it made its next flight four years later.
Since September 1940, Polish pilots from the 302 "Poznański" Squadron fought the German Luftwaffe in planes such as the Hawker Hurricane. They were Polish pilots who, after the defeat in 1939, reached England through France to fight the German occupiers.
