Fast drying, fantastic results
I used this black gesso to prepare my canvas for oil paints, and it dried within a few minutes. The paint was even and not lumpy, and didn't require thinners for application. I washed my brushes in warm water for cleaning them of the gesso, no soap was required to clean them up either.
My oil paints took to the dry gesso perfectly, almost as if I hadn't prepped the canvas at all with anything, and they dried faster than those I painted without a gesso base too.

Great for costume making
Gesso is a really easy way to prime theroplastics and foam for costume. I've used the white one before and this acts in a pretty similar way - it's great to work with in quick layers and dries in around the same time as acrylic paint. It's my favourite way to prime without getting involved with sticky glues which become messy.

Easy to use
This is the first time I have used this product and wasn’t sure what to expect! I found a little goes quite a long way and dries very quickly, when heat is applied. It gave a good depth of colour for a Matt finish

Exactly what I was looking for
This black gesso is perfect for a base colour but I also like using it as a 'wash' or 'tonal value' to my painting. The paint is a good consistency and it does what it says on the bottle.

It's black gesso...
It does exactly what you expect it to do... makes things you paint turn black! There is something very satisfying about priming a canvass in black paint. Highly recommended.

Smooth, Thick and perfect for job
It’s has a great coverage and it’s easy to paint on , texture is smooth and thick .. perfect for job , will definitely be using again for various surfaces too !

Great primer
Used this primer on a sanded down plastic surface and it covered the surface perfectly after two coats. Dries fast and has a nice matt texture.
