X-Rated pants begone!
My beloved fella had unfortunately ripped his work pants right up the crotch, giving his poor colleagues a view they really didn’t need to see. Being the self sufficient, modern man he is, he had a bash at sewing them up himself resulting in much swearing, needlestick injury and somehow sewing his pants to my current knitting project. Nevertheless, he persisted and proudly set off the next morning with no draughty drawers.
Sadly, the stitching did not persist and yet again his under crackers were on display to all and sundry. Climbing ladders became even more of a danger to both his safety and dignity. It seemed inevitable that his pants were consigned to the bin.
However! All was not lost. On a recent trip to Hobbycraft I spotted this super strong thread. Could this be the answer? Could I succeed where he had failed? Could his nether regions be finally protected and safe from the elements and the horrified gaze of the general public?
Reader, yes. So far they have survived Storms Ciara and Dennis, and a catastrophic Cabinet reshuffle with not even a glimmer of daylight visible. He’s delighted. I’m delighted. All is well with the universe.

Just what we needed
As a keen sewer this has been one pastime my 86 year old Nan has been able to maintain through lockdown. Being part of the “always be prepared” generation my Nan has had a surplus of strong black cotton for years. However, when the time came to re-stock my Nan was aghast to learn that the little local lady with a market stall (her go to supplier) had been out of business for almost 18 months! Luckily I knew Hobbycraft could come to the rescue (and for the same price, fancy that!) and did. Not mention opening a whole new range of sewing ideas for my Nan. Job definitely done

This thread is incredibly strong
I purchased this thread as I needed the stongest stread I could find that would work in my Janome machine. I was repairing a canvas awning.

Needed strong thread to use
I needed a strong thread to sew an awning to use on a caravan. Gutterman strong thread is brilliant for that purpose.

Very strong thread with great reel size
I have found this thread really good on my application which has been car retrim it works really well in my machine compared to top stitch is a wee bit thicker and my machine doesn't like it so much . Thank you again

Best Thread
I always use Gutermann Thread, especially the heavy duty, as they are very reliable and do not snap. I have found my sewing machine does not work well with other brands, but always works well with Gutermann.

I used this extra strong thread to mend a leather belt, doing a bit of YouTube to learn the technique, I rubbed some bee wax (lip salve) on it beforehand. Job done.
