As an experienced dressmaker, polyester thread is the best, as it is suitable for all fabrics, unlike cotton.

It's a fab colour match for 100% wool felt
I use Gutterman threads predominantly for handsewing teddy bears but they work well for machine sewing too. Such a good range of colours available and a high quality.
