Eye too small
I bought these needles recently as I wanted a slightly smaller needle than I had at home to whip stitch English paper pieces together.. I was disappointed to find that I couldn’t even thread a single strand of Gutterman 100% cotton through the eye without a needle threader... which brings me on to my next problem.. when pulling the needle threader back through the eye, it is so small that it just cuts or ruins the thread. I’ve spent more time threading new lengths of cotton due to the eye causing a break in the thread than I have actually sewing. Not sure if I have received a bad batch or if this is standard.. the needle packet states they are ideal for taking multiple embroidery threads!

Slender and inexpensive
These inexpensive needles are just what I wanted as their slender shape means you notice the thread rather than the puncture mark in finished items. Their long eye also makes them easier to thread.
