This is an Intermediate level crochet pattern. Stitches used: SC, Hdc, DC, IncDC and CH. You should also be comfortable with colour changes.
This Pattern is written in US crochet terms. Please stuff firmly as you go along.
The legs, body and arms are Crocheted together, changing colours as you go along.
The Head is crocheted separately then attached to the body.

Arms (make 2)

Colour A: BEIGE
Crocheted in a continuous round with 2.5 mm hook

Round 1: MR SC 6. (6sts)
Round 2: (SC, Inc) x 3. (9sts)
Round 3: (SC 2, Inc) x 3. (12sts)
Round 4: SC 12 around. (12sts)
Round 5: (SC 2, Dec) x 3. (9sts)
Round 6-12: SC 9 around. (7 rounds). (9sts)
Round 13: (SC 2, Inc) x 3. (12sts)
Round 14-15: SC 12 around. (2 rounds). (12sts)
Change to colour B: BERRY
Round 16: BLO. SC 12 around. (12sts)

Legs (make 2)

Colour A: BEIGE
Crocheted in a continuous round with 2.5 mm hook.
Round 0: CH 7, from the second chain from the hook (7sts)
Round 1: SC 5, SC 3 in the last chain. On the other side of the chain SC 4, Inc. (14sts)
Round 2: Inc, SC 4, Inc x 3, SC 4, Inc x 2. (20sts)
Round 3-4: SC 20 around. (2 rounds). (20sts)
Round 5: SC 5, Dec x 5, SC 5. (15sts)
Round 6: SC 5, Dec x 3, SC 4. (12sts)
Round 7: SC 12 around. (12sts)
Round 8: (SC 3, Inc) x 3. (15sts)
Round 9: SC 15 around. (15sts)
Round 10: (SC 4, Inc) x 3. (18sts)
Round 11-18: SC 18 around. (8 rounds). (18sts)

Mark St 20 of round 21 of the first leg (see pink stitch marker).
The stitch marked should align with the middle of the inside of the leg. (See picture)
Note: if necessary, crochet 2-3 extra St so that the end of the row is aligned with the back of the leg (see picture) Stuff firmly.
Repeat Round 0 - 21 for the 2nd Leg, do not fasten off, continuing Rd 21, SC 7. The end of the row should now be aligned with the middle of the inside of the 2nd leg. Mark this as the start of the next round then join the 2nd to the 1st leg at St 20 with a SC.
Without cutting our yarn, we continue to crochet the body.

Body

Crocheted in a continuous round with 2.5 mm hook.
Round 22: SC 23 around the 1st leg, SC 24 around the 2nd leg. (48sts)
Round 23-28: SC 48 around. (6 rounds). (48sts)
Round 29: (SC 6, Dec) x 6. (42sts)
Round 30: (SC 5, Dec) x 6. (36sts)
Change to colour B: BERRY
Round 31: (SC 4, Dec) x 6. (30sts)
Round 32: BLO. SC 30 around. (30sts)
Round 33-41: SC 30 around. (9 rounds). (30sts)
Without cutting our yarn, now we join the arms to the body.
Round 42: 10 SC, (at this point you should aligned with the side of the torso) 12 SC around 1st arm, 15 SC around front of the body, 12 SC around 2nd arm and 5 SC around the back of the body. (54sts)
Round 43: SC 54 around. Do not fasten off. (54sts)


Optional:
Adding Hobby wire to make the arms bendable.
Note: If you do not want to add the wire, skip these steps, and continue with round 44.
Step 1: Raise hands so they make a T- shape with the body and lay out the 23cm wire centred over the top of the arm. The wire should extend beyond the fingertips of the doll (see picture).
Step 2: Bend the wire upwards at two points to make a U shape. The base of the U shape should be slightly narrower than the width of the Dolls torso.

Step 4: Working on one side of the wire at a time, position the U-shaped wire over one of the arms (see picture) and bend it at a point upwards shorter than the length of the arm. Repeat with the second side of the wire
Step 5: Twist the ends of the wire around itself to remove any sharp ends.
Step 6: Insert wire into the Dolls body. The Two ends should go into the arms and the base of the U-shape within the Torso.

Face

Nose – Colour A: BEIGE
Between round 12-13 of the head, make a couple of horizontal stitches 2 stitches wide (see Picture).
Now on those stitches wrap the yarn around until all the stitches are covered.
Eyes – Black embroidery thread
Using the pictures as a guide use the black embroidery thread to sew on the eyes. They should be sewn on round 11, 3 stitches wide and 4 stitches apart.
Mouth – Colour B: BERRY
Using the pictures as a guide, sew on the mouth between round 14-15. 2 stitches wide (see Picture).

Hair

Colour D: GREY
The hair is made up of two pieces – A base cap with a fringe and a bun

Crocheted in a continuous round with 3 mm hook
Round 1: MR SC 6. (6sts)
Round 2: Inc x 6. (12sts)
Round 3: (SC, Inc) x 6. (18sts)
Round 4: (SC 2, Inc) x 6. (24sts)
Round 5: (SC 3, Inc) x 6. (30sts)
Round 6: (SC 4, Inc) x 6. (36sts)
Round 7: (SC 5, Inc) x 6. (42sts)
Round 8-12: SC 42 around. (5 rounds). (42sts)
The next part (the fringe) round will be crochet in rows.
Without cutting the yarn
CH 17, Turn and from the second chain from the hook, Hdc 16. Slst to the next stitch on Round 12 and repeat.
You should now have two hair pieces attached to the base cap. f/o leaving a long tail for sewing.


Hair: Bun
Crocheted in a continuous round with 3 mm hook.
Round 1: MR SC 8. (8sts)
Round 2: Inc x 8. (16sts)
Round 3: (SC 3, Inc) x 4. (20sts)
Round 4-5: SC 20 around. (2 rounds). (20sts)
Round 6: Dec x 10. Stuff. (10sts)
f/o leaving a long tail for sewing.

Attaching Hair

Attaching the hair to the head:
Step 1: Place the hair on the head with the fringe pieces on Row 7 of the head.
To give a side part, The fringe pieces are centred over one eye. If you would like a middle part, adjust as appropriate.
Step 2: Sew the base cap unto the head. Do not sew down the fringe pieces at this point.
Step 3: Sew the fringe pieces on either side of the head.
Step 4: Position the Bun in line with the magic ring from Round 1 of the base cap and sew in place.
Step 5: Sew on the head to the body. Stuff firmly to support the neck. If the neck needs some extra support add a piece of craft wire.

Christmas Hat

Hat - Colour C: WHITE
Crocheted in continuous rounds with 2.5 mm hook.
Round 1: MR SC 6. (6sts)
Round 2: SC 6 around. (6sts)
Round 3: Dec, SC 4. (5sts)
Change to colour E: WINE RED
Round 4: Inc x 5. (10sts)
Round 5: SC 10 around. (10sts)
Round 6: Inc x 10. (20sts)
Round 7: SC 20 around. (20sts)
Change to colour C: WHITE
Round 8: SC 20 around.(20sts)

Place the Christmas hat as desired on the head and sew in place.

Shoes (make 2)

Apron

The Apron is constructed in two parts: The main Apron and the Christmas tree design

Colour C: WHITE
Crocheted in Rows with a 2.5 mm hook.
Ch 1 at the end of each row, these are turning chains and not counted in the total number of stitches
Row 0: CH 8 (8sts)
Row 1: from the second chain from the hook, SC 7. (7sts)
Row 2-3: SC 7 across. (2 rows). (7sts)
Row 4: Inc, SC 5, Inc. (9sts)
Row 5-6: SC 9 across. (2 rows). (9sts)
Row 7: Inc, SC 7, Inc. (11sts)
Row 8-9: SC 11 across. (2 rows). (11sts)
Mark the first and last stitch of Row 9

-At point C, CH 25, from the second chain from the hook Slst 24 along the back of the chain.
- SC 7 between points C and D.
-At point D, CH 25, from the second chain from the hook Slst 24 along the back of the chain.
-SC 8 between points D and E.
-At point E, CH 35, from the second chain from the hook Slst 34 along the back of the chain.
-SC 13 between points E and F.
CH2 and Slst to the first Stitch of Row 22.

Christmas Tree Design

Colour G: FIR GREEN
Crocheted in Rows with a 2.5 mm hook.

Attaching the Christmas tree to the Apron:
Pin the Christmas tree to the middle of the Apron and sew in place.
Using the Gold embroidery thread, sew on a Star.

Bowl

To give structure to the design, these are crochet using a double strand of yarn. One strand each of Rose and white to give a marbled effect.

Crocheted in continuous rounds with 3 mm hook.
Round 1: MR SC 5. (5sts)
Round 2: Inc x 5. (10sts)

Spoon

Optional:
Attach the bowl to the torso and the spoon to the hand with a few stiches
