How to Knit a Cable Cushion
Looking to update your home for the next season? These cable cushions are a great way to add a warm touch to your home and quick to knit up with our chunky yarn.
Once you have got the cable stitch mastered, you will want to make one for every room.

* 8 mm Knitting Needles
* Cable Needle
* Embroidery or Tapestry Needle

* 4 Buttons (3cm Diameter)

Tension
11 stitches and 16 rows to 10 cm in pattern using 8mm knitting needles.
Abbreviations
C4B - slip the next 2 stitches on to a cable needle and hold at back of work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the 2 stitches from the cable needle
C4F - slip the next 2 stitches on to a cable needle and hold at front of work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the 2 stitches from the cable needle
K - Knit
K2tog - knit 2 stitches together
P - Purl
Yrn - Yarn round needs
St(s) - stitch(es)
[ ] - repeat section in square brackets as many times as indicated
How To Make
Using 8mm needles cast on 47 sts.
Knit 6 rows.
Row 1: K1, [p1, k1] 4 times, p1, k8, p1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times, p1, k8, p1, k1, (p1, k1] 4 times.
Row 2: K1, [p1, k1] 4 times, k1, p8, k1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times, k1, p8, k1, k1, (p1, k1) 4 times.
Row 3: K1, [p1, k1] 4 times, p1, c4b, c4f, p1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times, p1, c4b, c4f, p1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times.
Row 4: K1, [p1, k1] 4 times, k1, p8, k1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times, k1, p8, k1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times.
These 4 rows set pattern. Continue in pattern until work measures 76cm from the cast on edge, ending with 4th row of pattern.
Knit 2 rows.
Buttonhole row: K6, k2tog, yrn, k9, k2tog, yrn, k9, k2tog, yrn, k9, k2tog, yrn, k6. (47 sts) Knit 2 rows.
Cast off loosely.
Making Up
With right sides facing fold into thirds allowing the garter stitch bands to overlap each other, making sure that the buttonhole band will appear on the outside when turned through. Stitch the sides together, turn though and attach the buttons. Weave in any loose ends.
Using 8mm needles cast on 47 sts.
Knit 6 rows.
Row 1: K1, [p1, k1] 4 times, p1, k8, p1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times, p1, k8, p1, k1, (p1, k1] 4 times.
Row 2: K1, [p1, k1] 4 times, k1, p8, k1, k1, [p1, k1] 4 times, k1, p8, k1, k1, (p1, k1) 4 times.
