Step 1

Using the templates as a guide, cut out your fabric pieces (we've used a 6mm seam allowance on the white rectangles). You will need two white rectangles and two red crosses for each flag.

Step 2

Pin the red crosses onto the white rectangles.

Step 3

Using red thread and a straight stitch, sew the red crosses onto the white flags.

Step 4

Take two flags right sides together and sew using white thread and a straight stitch along both long sides and one short side.

Step 5

Being careful to avoid your stitching, diagonally cut the corners so they are neat when your work is turned the right side out.

Turn the flag right side out and press.

Step 6

Pin your flags at even intervals along the bias tape, with the raw edge concealed within the tape. Use white thread and a straight stitch to sew your bunting together.

Tip: Make sure to leave plenty of space at either end of your bias tape ribbon to hang your bunting!

If you need to lengthen your bias tape with ribbon at each end, secure the ribbon with pins within your bias tape and stitch in place before attaching your flags.

Step 7

You are now ready to decorate your home and celebrate the World Cup!
