Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tricky for inexperienced crocheters I've always wanted to make this project as it's really cute and perfect to add to my wardrobe. After reading the only other review on this pattern, I was weary at the instructions as I didn't know what to expect with how negative the review was. I would say i'm an intermediate crocheter and have crocheted many different levels of projects before. This pattern took a while to understand as the pattern language was very different from other patterns i've followed before. It missed out on some details which would leave inexperienced crocheters lost. You'd definitely need prior granny square crochet project experience to follow this pattern. For reference, this took about 8 hours of crocheting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My brain physically hurts. As much as I love the look of this, I tried it and I would absolutely not recommend this to a beginner. Maybe a more experienced crocheter could decipher the pattern and figure out what to do. For me, this was too many different things, most of which I'd just learnt, all at once. I tried, gave up for a while, then came back to it all confident, tried again and again, only to realise all the squares I've already made are wrong (and I've made 12) and I just give up. Ready to throw my crochet hook out the window. Trying to decode this pattern physically hurts my brain. You also need to know how to colour change and how to do a bobble as well as a treble. For a noob who's learnt from YouTube, this is not for me! However I'm sure a more advanced crocheter could manage it.
